Dr. Aasim Kamal, M.D.
Dr. Kamal is a fellowship trained ophthalmologist and a refractive surgery specialist. In his time as a surgeon he has performed over 20,000 individual procedures, most recently working with the Nationwide Vision Laser and Eye Centers in Arizona.
After completing medical school, he moved to New York to complete his residencies in Neurology and Ophthalmology at the prestigious Westchester Medical Center. He further continued his training by taking part in several fellowship programs: Neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Iowa and a Research and Clinic Ophthalmology fellowship at the Gimbel Eye Center, one of Canada’s most acclaimed eye clinics. He remained at that center to also complete his Refractive Surgery fellowship under the tutelage of Dr. Howard Gimbel.
Dr. Kamal has gained recognition since entering the field. He has been named Chief Resident in each of his two residencies and has, more recently, been involved with research and the authoring of numerous articles for refractive surgery.
